How 'Chris' Went from Billing $6k to $26k Monthly
When Chris* started working with me in early 2024, he was already doing well, making around $6K monthly with a sizable, active audience on LinkedIn. But, he knew something wasn't quite right. He was regularly working 50-hour weeks, yet his income didn’t reflect his effort, and his lead generation felt unpredictable. He wanted growth, stability, and more time back.
(Does this sound familiar? Check out my process and pricing page if you want to know more about how I work with clients)
In my first session with Chris, we set clear goals, and identified the first steps to transforming his business.

Setting Clear Goals
When I start working with my clients, 90% are looking for the same things. To earn more or work less (or a bit of both!).
Chris was clear on what he wanted. He wanted to:
Increase his monthly income from $6K to $8K.
Reduce his workweek down to four days a week (from ~50 hours)
To achieve these goals, we zeroed in on three areas: a smarter pricing strategy, building a lead generation strategy focused on his ideal clients, and streamlining his workload for maximum impact.
Freelancer Pricing Strategy: Shifting the Focus from Hours to Value
Challenge: Chris was charging too little for the significant value he was providing his customers. His income also depended on the number of hours he worked each month, unintentionally penalising himself for efficiency and undervaluing his expertise (an absolute no-no).
Solution: We restructured his pricing model by shifting from hourly rates to value based package pricing. This moved the focus to the value of the work he was delivering rather than the time spent working. This way his customers knew what they'd receive each month, as ultimately, that's what they cared about (not the hours that went into it).
Result: Chris immediately raised his income per client, improved client satisfaction, and boosted his productivity. He found he could comfortably handle more clients without adding stress.
Why did we start here? Pricing is usually one of the first areas I work on with my clients who are looking to increase their income. Even clients who use package pricing or retainer models are often leaving money on the table. Around 80% of the business owners I speak to could be charging more for their services, and it's typically an easy issue to fix.

Lead Generating Content: Doubling Down on Converts
Challenge: Chris's content was popular, but inconsistent in attracting leads. He’d often create posts based on impulse or current trends, not strategy. He also regularly wrote with his peers in mind, rather than focusing on solving his ideal customers' pain points, or demonstrating solutions to the problems that kept them up at night.
Solution: Firstly, we spent time defining Chris' ideal customers, what their needs were, and what problems felt most urgent. We then analysed his current content to identify what consistently generated leads. Chris then doubled down on that content.
In his case it was primarily case-studies and 'how-to's'. By focusing his content creation on these areas, and not getting distracted, we saw immediate improvements in engagement, and interest from his ideal customers.
Result: Leads went from sporadic to predictable. Within weeks, Chris saw measurable increases in engagement from qualified prospects. And, when he booked calls with them, they were already much more interested in his offer, and trusting of his expertise.
Impact: Focusing on What Mattered
Challenge: Chris knew he was working too many hours without seeing a measurable impact on his income. He thought that there were probably unproductive areas. But didn't know where best to focus his efforts, or how to identify what he could drop.
Solution: We worked on a clear process. Over the course of several weeks, Chris meticulously tracked almost everything he did. We then systematically reviewed each activity. Identifying and cutting out anything that wasn’t adding significant value and automating routine tasks.. This leaner approach allowed him to focus his energy on high-impact activities.
Result: Chris reduced his weekly workload by more than 25%. More impressively, cutting these low-value tasks freed mental energy for high-impact work, significantly increasing client acquisition and revenue potential.
Why this approach? When I work with my clients, there are usually only a small number of activities that drive the highest proportion of their revenue. These are typically the ones where small changes can have a much larger impact on their business (leverage). By first identifying, and then focusing ruthlessly on these areas, it's possible to see huge shifts in income, while actually cutting hours worked.
The Transformation: Adding $20k Monthly*
With these strategic changes, Chris didn’t just reach their initial goals—they smashed through them. In just the first half of their coaching program, they:
Reduced their working hours by 25%.
Increased their monthly from $6k-16k.
Saw a huge increase in consistent high-quality leads.
(*Update: They've now added an incredible $20k monthly to their revenue since we started working together).
The best bit? This client is incredible to work with. They put the work in, embrace feedback, and are prepared to try new things.
Conclusion
Chris's story is a testament to what can be achieved with the right approach. For him it was about pricing, content and impact. But everyone and every business is different. You need to find a strategy that's right for you. One that identifies your most important opportunities for growth.
